T-Rex roams the streets of Paris. Artist Julien Nonnon brought extinct creatures to life in his latest work, Prehistoric Safari, using video mapping technology to project images of dinosaurs in Jardin d’Acclimatation, a long-established Parisian amusement park. Nonnon explains that this digital art form, blending photography, video, architecture, and scenography, allowed him to create 17 3D projections of species that lived during the Cretaceous period. With glowing yellow eyes, T-Rex, and a triceratops flaunting its green horns, emerge in holographic form on the sides of buildings after dark.
In addition to the 3D projections, Nonnon also directed a short film titled Dino Escape, which depicts a dinosaur invasion of Paris’s streets. The film includes an interactive quest where viewers are challenged to retrieve a T-Rex egg and bring it into the present day.
