Yunmi Nam gives significance to everyday objects through her ceramic sculptures of disposable containers. She preserves items like aluminum pans and foam cups by casting them in ceramic. The sculptures are glazed in celadon, merging modern themes with the historical roots of Korean ceramics. In her exhibition “Usually for Disposal,” Nam explores the themes of temporality and permanence, reflecting on our relationship with consumption. The exhibition highlights the fleeting nature of objects while questioning their perceived permanence.
